About Us

Guiding Thought

Because there are people who God has compassion on in our community who are not presently being reached by the message and life of the Gospel of Jesus Christ:

When he looked out over the crowds, his heart broke. So confused and aimless they were, like sheep with no shepherd. “What a huge harvest!” he said to his disciples. “How few workers! On your knees and pray for harvest hands!”
(Matthew 9: 36-38)

Jesus always needs more hands for the harvest. Are you willing?

“God has not called me here to plant a church. He has called me here to gather a group of people and equip them to plant a church.” Paul Fife

Vision

Formed by the Gospel, For the Gospel

Mission

To live the Kingdom of God intentionally in the communities of West Niagara so as to be messengers of the Good News of Jesus Christ and workers of this Good News so as to take in the harvest of the lost, discipling them, carrying on the work of the Great Commission through the Great Commandment.

Values

1. The priority of the gospel.

We are committed to filling ordinary life with intentionality, discipling one with the gospel and sharing the gospel with unbelievers. We challenge one another to be sacrificial, servant-hearted, risk-taking and flexible because the gospel has priority over our comfort, traditions and preferences.

2. Mission through community

We want people to experience church as a network of relationships. Relationships are the primary context for all or most of church life. The church demonstrates the power of the gospel.

3. Sharing our lives

We are committed to inclusively, sharing our lives in Christian community. Relationships should be forged likened to family and the fellowship of common experience and mission. This is characterized by caring for one another, discipling one another and resolving conflict. The bedrock of evangelism involves ordinary people in their ordinary flow of life intentionally seeking to minister the gospel in both word and deed.

4. Prayer as a missionary activity

Recognizing that God is the primary agent of mission, we view prayer as a missionary activity. We want prayer to be both a regular discipline, and an impromptu response to needs and opportunities. We will not assume we are in control of mission, nor rob God of his glory by boasting of our achievements.

5. Shaped by Scripture

We want our lives and our life together to be formed and shaped by the Bible’s story of redemption. We believe the Bible to be the reliable, authoritative and sufficient word of God, and are therefore committed to good Bible learning and living.

6. Growing by starting churches and church planting networks

We are committed to starting new congregations. We will not develop into a single, large congregation, nor become insular.
